Are you getting the maximum benefit from eating your fruit?

It is probably fair to say that most people like and eat fruit daily, whether it’s the sweet or sour tastes or the rough or smooth textures, there is usually something that satisfies most pallets!
We all know that fruit is full of health benefiting vitamins and minerals that nourish our beautiful bodies but what some of us don’t know is that there is a right time to eat our fruity goodness.
So what is the right way?
Fruit is best eaten in the morning on an empty stomach and eaten alone for your body to best absorb the nutrients. This also allows your digestive system to do its job with ease! Enjoy your fruit between meals giving yourself at least 30 minutes after eating it before eating something else.
As fruit breaks down the quickest of all foods, it’s in and out of the stomach within 20-30 minutes. So if you eat fruit on top of heavier foods such as starches or protein it sits on top of that food as it takes longer to digest and ferments and acidifies the whole meal.
Unfortunately this means that opting for a “healthy” fruit salad as dessert is not as great as you’d think as it will actually mess up the whole digestive process. When our digestive system is overworked it affects our energy levels.
Fruit is pure, divine and is a natural way to detox and cleanse us of toxins if we eat it correctly.
