Lucuma powder comes from a subtropical fruit native to the Andean coastal valleys of Peru. It has been used for centuries in South America for medicinal purposes. Traditionally referred to as the gold of the Incas, this greenish fruit has a yellow/orange flesh and a taste described as a mixture between maple, caramel and pumpkin. Naturally sweet and fragrant, Lucuma powder is a popular flavor for beverages, ice cream and desserts.
