Wheatgrass is very high in chlorophyll, which has been shown to prevent the growth of pathogenic bacteria in the gut – therefore it promotes healthy digestion. It also contains 20 different amino acids (so is a good source of protein) and many other important vitamins and minerals, making it an ideal supplement for weight management, athletes and those wishing to boost their immunity. Because of its ability to neutralise toxins, wheatgrass is often used as a liver and blood detoxifier and may help protect us from the cell damaging effects of free radicals and carcinogens.
The normal dose is 1 to 2 teaspoons daily (may be increases when detoxing). Add to smoothies or juice. May be added to bath water for a purifying soak. Use as a gargle to sweeten breath and promote gum health.
