In Creams and sauces, Salad Dressings by Melanie Gulliver
Balsamic reduction
A delicious way to slightly sweeten savoury salad dishes or to slightly sour sweet dishes. I love to use it over tomatoes or grilled or fresh peaches. The reduction does set hard if left to cool but can be softened again by heating.
Instructions
- Add balsamic vinegar and maple syrup to a saucepan and heat for a few minutes until the sauce reduces down to a thicker sauce. You may want to add less maple syrup at first to get your preferred sweetness.
Recipe Notes
Clever Tip; You can use 1-4 tbsp coconut sugar or any other alternative sweetener in place of the maple syrup.
